The mission of the Consular Section of the Embassy is to protect the rights and interests of the nationals and institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and to exercise official consular functions provided for in through the legislation, international agreements and customary regulations under international law. The Embassy provides consular services to all states except Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Consular services for the afore-mentioned States are provided by the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los-Angeles.

To obtain a tourist visa the following documents must be submitted to the Consular Section of the Embassy:

• A tourist voucher from the travel agency should be confirmed by the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan
• Completed visa application form
• Valid passport or other travel document (photocopies will not be accepted) which should have at least one clear page for the visa
• Two passport sized photos of the applicant
• Consular fee is $20 US dollars

Consular fee should be paid only in money orders, bank cashier's (certified check) and company checks. Please, make payment to the order of Embassy of Azerbaijan.

To obtain a visa by mail, the request must include a postage paid return envelope (Express Mail, FedEx, UPS or DHL). The Embassy of Azerbaijan does not assume any responsibility for the loss postal delivery. As the Embassy does not keep tracking numbers of your mail, you are advised to keep a record of it in way to track your passport's return to you.

• January 20 - Day of the Martyrs;
• March 8 - Women's Day;
• March 20-25 - Novruz Bayrami;
• May 9 - Day of Victory over Nazism;
• May 28 - Republic Day;
• June 15 - National Salvation Day;
• June 26 - Day of Armed Forces;
• October 18 - National Independence Day;
• November 12 - Constitution Day;
• November 17 - Day of National Revival;
• December 31 - Day of Solidarity of Azerbaijanis throughout the World.
