If Belgian passport is lost/stolen abroad:

  • Call Doc-Stop to cancel your passport and protect yourself against any fraudulent use of your identity: +32 2 518 2123.
  • Notify the local police about the loss/theft immediately. Ask for a statement confirming the loss/theft.
  • If you need a passport to return to Belgium, contact the Belgian embassy or consulate in the country you are visiting. If there is none, contact the embassy or consulate of another EU country.
  • If you have been unable to notify the local police about the loss/theft while you were abroad, do so with your police station as soon as you return to Belgium.

Citizens of India need short stay visas to visit Belgium for stays of up to 3 months. Document checklist:

  • A completed and signed application form.
  • A travel document valid for at least 3 months from the date on which an applicant intends to leave the Schengen territory, or, in the case of multiple journeys, the date on which an applicant intends to leave it for the last time.
  • The documents indicating the purpose of your journey.
  • The documents relating to accommodation.
  • The documents indicating that an applicant has sufficient personal means of subsistence.
  • Information making it possible to assess applicant’s intention to leave the territory of the Schengen States before the expiry of the visa.
  • Suitable, valid travel health insurance covering any costs of repatriation for medical reasons, emergency medical care and/or emergency hospital care or death during applicant’s stay/s on the Schengen territory.
  • If an applicant is applying for a multiple-entry visa, he/she must in addition establish the need to travel frequently and/or regularly, inter alia because of his/her job or family situation, and prove his/her integrity and reliability, inter alia by the legal use of visas issued previously, by his/her economic situation and by his/her desire to leave the territory of the Schengen States before the expiry of the visa applied for.
  • When an applicant receives confirmation of the issue of the visa, he/she should add the proof of the transport that he/she will use to reach Belgium (non-transferable return ticket in his/her name). This proof is not required when an applicant lodges the visa application, to avoid unnecessary costs. On the other hand, proof of the reservation of a return ticket may be demanded.

The handling fee is paid in Indian Rupees is as per the exchange rate communicated by the Embassy of Belgium in New Delhi. The same is subject to change without notice. The visa fee is non-refundable.

The handling fee for a short term stay visa (C) is 60 euro.

The Embassy is closed on Public Holidays.
