Canadian Embassy in the Hague provides these consular services:

  • Assistance and advice for Canadian citizens abroad in case of emergencies (arrest or detention; child abduction; evacuations; natural disasters and civil emergencies; financial assistance; lost or stolen belongings; medical assistance; missing persons; transportation accidents);
  • Issues, renews passports;
  • Deals with matters related to the Canadian citizenship;
  • Registers Canadians abroad;
  • Issues marriage, birth, criminal record certificates;
  • Allows Canadian citizens to participate in national electoral events;
  • Legalizes documents;
  • Deals with matters related to citizens eligible for Canadian social benefits.

In case a Canadian passport was lost or stolen, it should be reported to the nearest Government of Canada office. Before the passport can be replaced, Canadian authorities will conduct an investigation into the circumstances of the loss or theft. This may lead to delays in processing the replacement passport.

Dutch citizens do not require a visa to enter Canada as visitors.

While Dutch citizens may not need a visa to visit or transit Canada, they still need to:

  • Show an immigration officer that they satisfy all other requirements to enter Canada. For instance, they may need a medical exam before arriving. If they do not meet all the requirements, they may not be allowed to enter.
  • Carry proper travel documents and identification for themselves and any children travelling with them.

The Embassy is closed on weekends and Canadian and Dutch public holidays.
