Consular services provided by the Embassy:

  • Issuance of passports;
  • Registration of Canadians abroad;
  • Assistance to Canadians abroad in cases of emergency;
  • Citizenship matters.

If Canadian passport is lost or stolen abroad, it should be reported to the nearest Government of Canada office abroad. Once a passport has been reported lost or stolen, it is no longer valid and cannot be used for travel. Before the passport can be replaced, Canadian authorities will conduct an investigation into the circumstances of the loss or theft. This may lead to delays in processing the replacement passport.

The Visa and Immigration Section at the Embassy of Canada in Seoul, Korea is closed and services transferred to the Embassy of Canada in Manila, Philippines.

Citizens of South Korea do not need visas to visit Canada. However, they need to demonstrate to an immigration officer that they satisfy all other requirements to enter Canada:

  • Have a valid travel document, such as a passport;
  • Be in good health;
  • Have no criminal or immigration-related convictions;
  • Convince an immigration officer that they have ties - such as a job, home, financial assets or family - that will take them back to their home country;
  • Convince an immigration officer that they will leave Canada at the end of their visit;
  • Have enough money for their stay.

South Korean citizens will need an electronic travel authorization (eTA) before boarding their flight to Canada as of March 15, 2016.

  • Cash payment is not accepted.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
