The Embassy provides these consular services:

• Issues passports;
• Issues visas;
• Notarial services;
• Issues civil status certificates (marriage, birth, death, etc.).

People willing to travel to China must obtain a visa from one of the Chinese diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries. Special administrative regions - Hong Kong and Macau - maintain independent visa regimes. Visa processing time is 5 working days.

Documents required for the nationals of Luxembourg to obtain a tourist visa to China:

• form of application;
• colored passport photo;
• flight or hotel reservation ticket;
• copy of the residence permit, work certificate or social security card of Luxembourg

Since 17 August 2012, Chinese Embassy in Luxembourg no longer accepts cash - only payments by credit cards are accepted.

The Embassy is closed on weekends and public holidays.
