Services provided by the Consular Section of the Chinese Embassy:

• Issuance of passports;
• Issuance of visas;
• Notarial services;
• Certification and authentication of documents;
• Assistance to Chinese citizens abroad.

Romanian citizens who are holders of ordinary passports require a visa to visit China.

Tourist visa requirements:

• Original passport valid for at least six months and with blank visa pages, a colored photocopy of the passport's data page and the photo page if it is separate.
• Visa application form.
• One recently taken color passport photo.
• Proof of legal stay or residence status.
• Photocopy of previous Chinese passports or previous Chinese visas.
• Supporting documents
• showing the itinerary including air ticket booking record (round trip) and proof of a hotel reservation, etc. or an invitation letter issued by a relevant entity or individual in China.

The applicant must apply for visa at least 2 weeks before the trip to China. Visas are usually processed in 5 working days. In special cases of urgency applicants may apply for an emergency visa which is issued in 2-3 days.

Visa payments can be made only in RON.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
