Services provided by the Consular Section of the Embassy:

• Issuance of passports;
• Notarial services;
• Assistance to Chinese citizens abroad in cases of emergency.

Citizens of Switzerland need visas to visit China. Tourist visa requirements are:

• Original passport with at least six months of remaining validity beyond the intended stay in China and two consecutive blank visa pages, and a photocopy of the passport's data page and the photo page if it is separate.
• One completed Visa Application Form with a recently-taken color passport photo (bare-head, full face) against a light background attached.
• Original and a photocopy of Swiss Residence Permit for non-Swiss passport holders. But Permit G is not acceptable.
• Photocopy of previous Chinese passports or previous Chinese visas (applicable to foreign citizens who were Chinese citizens and have obtained foreign citizenship).
• Documents showing the itinerary including air ticket booking record (round trip) and proof of a hotel reservation, etc. or an invitation letter issued by a relevant entity or individual in China.
