A completely filled out form must be presented along with a photocopy of the Passport, two photographs and a stamped self-addressed envelope so that the Consular Registration Card, which has to be presented when requesting any Consular Service, can be mailed.

In the case of a lost Passport, besides complying with the requirements from sub-article 2 to sub-article 5, a police report for lost property must be presented along with either a photocopy of the lost Passport, a Birth Certificate or other certificate stating the Cuban citizenship.

Applications for new Passports must be made two months before the date of intended travel.

NOTE: Cuban Passports are valid for a total of 6 years and may be extended for two years every two years.  Passport extensions are made once every two years and, to have the right for a second extension, payment for the right to the first extension must have been made.

The Embassy issues various visas: Tourist, Business, Family and other visas. The Tourist Visa or Tourist Card is only for purposes of tourism to Cuba.  It is valid for one single entrance into national territory for a 30-day trip and can be extended for an additional 30 days at the office in the hotel where one has accommodations or with the immigration authority. Family Visas - The spouses and children of Cuban citizens holding any other nationality who travel to Cuba and wish to stay at the home of their Cuban relatives must present their Passport and the document attesting to their kinship. Business visas must be requested by applicants from the corresponding office at the Cuban Embassy and after approval has been communicated to the Consulate, the applicant will visit the Consulate during normal business hours.

The consular services can be made by mail or courier, sending the required documents and a prepaid envelope for returning them. This would imply an additional non in person fee of 40.00 CAD

All payments must be made in cash or by a bank certified cheque. Cash sent by mail will be refused and returned at the risk of the applicant.
