The Ambassador of Cyprus in Stockholm is also accredited to the Republic of Latvia and the Kingdom of Norway.

The Embassy’s main mission is to promote and further enhance political, cultural, economic and trade relations with Sweden, Latvia and Norway. Furthermore, the Embassy provides general information on Cyprus and offers consular services to Cypriot nationals visiting or living in the countries of its accreditation, as well as advice to those intending to travel to the island or wishing to establish business or other contacts with Cyprus.

Consular services provided by the Embassy:

  • Issues passports;
  • Issues birth certificates;
  • Deals with civil marriages;
  • Assists Cypriot citizens temporarily visiting Sweden;
  • Accepts applications and issues visas to foreign nationals for entry to Cyprus;
  • Legalises documents bearing the seal of a Cyprus Government department/official;
  • Certifies the authenticity of a signature placed before a consular officer of the Embassy (on official documents).

EU (European Union) / EEA (European Economic Area) citizens do not require a visa for entry to Cyprus, but they must carry a passport which must be valid at least until the day of departure from Cyprus, or their national identity card provided there is a photo and the citizenship is declared.

However, please note that Swedish authorities consider the Swedish national ID cards only to be valid for travelling in the Schengen area, of which Cyprus is not a member.

The Embassy of Cyprus therefore recommends that Swedish nationals use their passport when travelling to Cyprus.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
