To apply for passport applicants with residence in Ireland will come in person to the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic with all the required documents. After the passport is prepared and sent to the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ireland, the applicant will be called to come in person to collect the passport. The applicant may request the consular officer to check the functioning of the electronic devise (chip) in the passport before he or she signs for the hand-over. The applicant will also be instructed on how to handle the new passport.

Theft or loss of a valid passport must be reported to the police and a police report should be presented when applying for a new passport. Otherwise a passport is applied as normally. When reporting a lost passport to the police it should be noted that a report made by telephone and a registration number given on the basis of that might not be adequate proof to the insurance company. The report can be made in person at a police station so that a report of the crime is available in writing.

Czech citizens are obliged to register births, marriages and deaths that occurred outside the Czech Republic with the Special Register Office in Brno, Czech Republic. This can be done via our Consular Section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Slovakia, during an appointment. The registration of the above-mentioned events must be done as soon as possible after they occur.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic is authorized to certify signatures, translations and copies of documents. Please bring your passport when you need to legalize your signature.
