Priorities of the Czech Embassy in Ankara are to strengthen the bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and Turkey in all areas; to support the continuation of EU accession negotiations leading to Turkey's full membership of the EU; to conduct a political dialogue on security policy and regional issues; to develop economic and trade contacts, to look for investment opportunities; to promote the Czech Republic. Other important tasks are to provide consular services to Czech nationals, to handle visa issues (students - Erasmus Mundus programme); to encourage cooperation in the field of culture and education.

Consular services provided by the Embassy:

  • Issues passports, driving licenses;
  • Deals with citizenship matters;
  • Issues birth, marriage certificates;
  • Allows Czech citizens to participate in national elections;
  • Provides the translation of documents;
  • Assists Czech citizens in cases of emergency.

In case of lost or stolen passport of the Czech Republic or any identification document, it should be immediately reported to the municipal office which issued the lost/stolen document or to the Embassy. A police report must also be obtained.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ankara and the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Istanbul are pleased to announce cooperation with company VFS GLOBAL in receiving visa applications. VFS GLOBAL Visa Application Centres will open in Ankara and Istanbul from 29thSeptember, 2015. The service is available for Turkish residents and other country nationals legally residing in Turkey who wish to apply for a Schengen visa to the Czech Republic.
