The Consular Section of the Danish Embassy in Moscow assists to all Danish citizens and - in as far as possible - foreigners with permanent residence in Denmark in the geographical area for which the Embassy is responsible: the Russian Federation, also Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
Consular services provided by the Consular Section of the Embassy:
- Issuance of Danish passports;
- Legalisation and verification of documents;
- Registration of Danes living abroad;
- Help in issuance of an international driving license;
- VAT refund;
- Issuance of visas.
IMPORTANT: visitors are kindly requested to make an appointment prior to visiting the Danish Embassy in Moscow: they must send an e-mail to mowamb@um.dk marked "Appointment Request / Consular Section" indicating the date and time convenient to them together with a short description of the purpose(s) of their visit (passport application, application for a driving license, verification etc.). Applicants must state all issues to be dealt with in order for the staff to dedicate sufficient time for their visit. The appointment will be confirmed by the Consular Section by return e-mail.
Individual tourists/visitors to distant relatives or friends/other private visitors must provide the following in order to apply for a visa to Denmark:
- Visa application form filled in English completely and signed by the applicant. For minors: application form must be signed by one of their parent or a legal guardian.
- Foreign passport valid for at least three months after the intended date of (last) departure from the Schengen area, containing at least two blank pages and issued within the previous ten years.
Additionally:
Copy of all marked pages of the foreign passport.
If available other valid or/and expired foreign passports and copies of all marked pages of other valid or/and expired foreign passports. - Two recent color photographs (3,5 x 4,5 cm) on the light background. Image has to bear a true likeness to the applicant.
- Visa fee in line with the categories of the visa facilitation agreements with Russia and the Visa Code.
- Travel medical insurance covering the entire period of intended stay, valid for all Schengen States and covering any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgency medical attention, emergency hospital treatment or death during the stay. The minimum coverage must be €30.000.
- Copy of the internal passport (issued at the age of 14): pages concerning the applicant's biodata, foreign passport(s) issued to him/her, his/her marital status and registration in Russia.
- In cases of minors:
i) Copy of birth certificate.
ii) Consent of the parental authority or legal guardian should be required only if the minor travels alone or only with one parent. Exceptions should be made to this if the single parent with whom the minor is to travel holds the parental authority alone (i.e. in cases where the other parent has deceased or been deprived of custody, e.g. a death certificate of the other parent or a court degree vesting custody exclusively in the parent who is signing the application would be requested).
iii) Copy of the valid Schengen visa of the parent(s) travelling with the minor for whom a visa is not applied at the same time with the parent(s). - In cases of third-country nationals:
i) Proof of legal residence in the Russian Federation in line with federal legislation (e.g. residence permit, long-term visa or FMS registration), valid for at least three months after the planned return from the Schengen area or a document proving that the applicant has applied for a renewal of proof of legal residence. - If the application is not submitted personally by the applicant, the applicant must issue a notarized Power of Attorney to the person handing in the application. Also if the passport is collected by a third party, a notarized Power of Attorney is required. For close relatives the document proving family relationship is sufficient.
Accredited travel agencies and Red Carpet companies are exempted from this requirement - Agreement on processing personal data.
Visa application will be processed within 5 working days if submitted at the Visa Application Centre in Moscow, providing all requirements are met. Additional delivery time from/to the regional Visa Application Centres shall be taken into account.
The fees are payable in Russian rubles only. The fees may change as a result of currency fluctuation. The Embassy accepts only cash.
The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
