The Embassy provides these consular services:

  • Issuing passports;

The processing of an ordinary passport normally takes from one to three weeks, of which preparation of the passport takes 4 to 6 days plus the time for delivery. It should also be noted that if the passport cannot be granted or if it is not collected, the application processing fee remains non-refundable.

Citizens of Luxembourg, alike other EU-citizens, do not need visa for traveling to Finland.

In connection of the Schengen agreement the Embassy only admits visas in exceptional cases. Persons who have been admitted residence visa in one of the Schengen countries can freely travel within the Schengen area during a maximum of three months, if they comply with the general requirements for immigration. Foreign nationals need to have a residence permit to stay in Finland for three months or longer. Nationals of other Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland) can enter Finland without restrictions and stay in the country without a residence permit. They also do not require a worker's residence permit.
