The Embassy of Finland in Bangkok serves Finnish citizens and foreigners residing permanently in Finland while visiting or residing in Thailand in matters within the scope of the Consular Services Act. According to the Consular Services Act, a person applying for a consular service shall be advised and given guidance on how to proceed with his or her matter.

Consular services provided:

• Assistance to Finnish citizens and foreigners permanently living in Finland;
• Citizenship matters;
• Notarial services;
• Military service matters;
• Issuance of passports;
• Issuance of visas and residence permits;
• Registers Finnish citizens abroad.

If Finnish passport is lost or stolen, it should be immediately reported to the local police. A police notification about the loss/theft of the passport will be needed when applying for a new passport at the Embassy or Consulate of Finland.

Embassy's cooperation partner VFS Global receives visa applications for persons travelling to Finland at the Visa Centre, located near BTS-stations Nana and Asoke and subway Sukhumvit on the 8^th Floor of Trendy Building. The address of Visa Application Centre is No.10/104-106 (801-803), 8th Floor, The Trendy Building, Sukhumvit Soi 13, Klongtoey-Nua, Wattana, Bangkok 10110.

Visa applications can be submitted at the Embassy by appointment only. Appointments are booked on the Visa Centre website or by telephone (+66 2 118 7009).

A visa is an entry permit that is granted for a short-term and temporary stay of up to 90 days in a 180-day period. When the visa validity period expires, the person must leave Finland and the Schengen Area. Citizens of Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar need a visa for the Schengen Area.

Visa for tourism purposes requirements:

• Schengen Visa Application Form
• One color photo (47mm x 36mm)
• Original passport and two copies of the ID page
• Old/expired passport(s) with old Schengen visas and border stamps (if relevant)
• Proof of Occupation (original)
• Proof of sufficient means of subsistence for the intended entire journey and the duration of stay
• Proof of accommodation
• Proof of Travel
• Travel Medical Insurance
• Foreign nationals (other than Thai, Cambodian, Lao and Myanmar): Copy of valid residence or work permit for Thailand
• Application fee

The visa application and its appendices are submitted in person at the Visa Centre. The visa application can be submitted no earlier than three months before the planned trip. The application processing time is 15 calendar days.

The visa fee is paid in Thai bahts, at the currency exchange rate valid at the time.

• At the Visa Centre, the visa fee and the VFS service charge are paid in cash when submitting the visa application. At the same time, the applicant pays for any additional services purchased, such as home delivery of the passport.
• The visa fee can be paid at the Embassy by local or international bank cards. Alternatively you may receive a payment slip when submitting the visa application and the visa fee can then be paid at the bank.
