In case of lost or stolen passport abroad, French citizens must report it to the local police authorities and contact nearest French diplomatic mission.

Russian citizens are required to apply for a visa to enter France. All foreign nationals wanting to come to France must be able to submit statutory documentary evidence at the border for the reasons for their stay, their means of support and accommodation arrangements. Applicant's passport must be valid long enough to cover his/her stay in the Schengen Area. Application or "visa" fees are payable on submitting application; these application fees are not refunded if the visa is refused.
