Consular services provided by the Embassy:
- Issuance of visas;
- Voting abroad matters;
- Adoption abroad matters;
- Issuance of national identity card;
- Issuance of civil status certificates;
- Issuance of passports;
- Legalization and certification of documents;
- French citizenship matters;
- Registration of French citizens abroad.
In case of lost or stolen travel documents, French citizens must make a list of lost/stolen items and report it to the local police authorities. French mission may issue a temporary travel document to return to France.
The Embassy of France is competent only for French/Korean or Korean/French translations.
South Korean nationals do not need visas for short stays (max. 90 days per 6-month period) in France, in the Schengen area, and in the French overseas territories.
Nevertheless, if the purpose of their stay is to have a professional activity generating a salary, i.e. an activity requiring a work authorization, they need to obtain such an authorization before entering France. (The authorization is asked by the employer to the DIRECCTE).
The consular section is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, and on public holidays.
