The Consulate General of France in Geneva deals with applications for France and Monaco from Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein.
Consular section:
- Issues passports, national identity cards and other administrative documents;
- Updates vital records;
- Perform census of young French people and organize the Defense and Citizenship day;
- Is in charge of elections;
- Is responsible for informing foreigners wishing to travel to France and issues visas.
In case of lost or stolen travel documents abroad, French citizens must make a list of lost/stolen items and report it to the local police authorities. French mission may issue a temporary travel document to return to France.
Nationals of EU Member States, the EEA or Switzerland are not subject to the entry and stay visa requirement, whatever the duration of their stay.
