The Embassy of Georgia in the Czech Republic has already become a considerable factor from the standpoint of further deepening and strengthening of the bilateral cooperation between the Czech Republic and Georgia. Since the very opening of our mission, various issues have been pushed forward, a number of high-level visits have been facilitated and crucially important contacts have been established on various levels. Nowadays, the Embassy of Georgia actively cooperates with the Parliament, Government, particular Ministries, financial, economic and cultural institutions as well as leading non-governmental organizations of the Czech Republic.
The Embassy of Georgia in Prague, proceeding from the great importance of foreign business and economic ties for future prosperity of the country, will be at overall disposal to everyone who would be interested in and willing to setting up contacts with Georgia.
Consular Section involves protecting and promoting the interests of Georgian nationals abroad, whether they live there or are there temporarily for business or pleasure. The embassies and consulates issue passports and emergency documents, deal with visa applications and legalise documents. When Georgian nationals run into difficulties abroad, the embassy or consulate can provide assistance.
The Consular Section also acts as the competent Georgian authority in matters such as passports, notary services and certain specific legal transactions, and advises non-Georgian citizens with entry permit matters. It also assists other Georgian authorities with citizenship, population register, military service and family law matters, and with arrangements for absentee voting.
Foreign staff of diplomatic missions and consular posts, as well as similar representations accredited to Georgia need visas for their first entry to the territory of Georgia. During their accreditation period they stay in the country and cross the border on the basis of accreditation card issued according to the determined rule of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, if other is not provided by international obligation.
Foreign nationals, who permanently reside in Czech Republic and possess a document certifying permanent residence in one of these countries, do not need visa to enter and stay on the territory of Georgia up to 360 days.
The citizens of Russian Federation do not need visa to enter and stay on the territory of Georgia up to 90 days. The citizens of the member states of European Union can enter Georgia on the basis of the Identity Card.
