Passports and visas can be requested only by prior appointment.
In case of lost or stolen passport while abroad, German citizens may apply for an emergency travel document to return to Germany at the German Embassy or Consulate. Application process is easier, if the applicant can provide photocopies of all lost identity documents.
Citizens of Belgium do not need visas to visit Germany.
The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
