Mission of the Embassy is to promote bilateral relations between Greece and Belgium in political, economic, cultural, tourist and other sectors. Its role is also to apply the scheduled foreign policy of Greece and to formulate opinions and recommendations on matters within its competence. Furthermore, the Embassy has consular functions aiming to provide all possible assistance to the Greek citizens and expatriates.

The Embassy provides these consular services:

  • Legalises translations,
  • Notarial deeds,
  • Military service matters,
  • Greek citizenship matters,
  • Transport of bodily remains,

It is necessary to book an appointment for Passport Application, Notarial Deeds, Military Service matters, Registration, Greek citizenship matters, Moving Residence to Greece Certificates. For appointments, call the number (00322) 5455510.

In case of loss or theft of one's passport Belgium, the holder must report the incident, as soon as possible, to a Belgian police authority obtaining confirmation of his/her report (e.g. crime reference number). Furthermore one needs also to proceed to the Consular Office to report the loss/theft to the relevant Greek Authorities. If no other proof of ID (bearing a photo) is provided, a Greek witness needs to be present, for identification reasons.

Citizens of Belgium do not need visas to visit Greece.

The Embassy and its Consular Section are closed on public holidays.
