The main services provided by the Embassy include:

Passports are issued to all Haitian citizens with proof of identity, as well as proof of Haitian citizenship. Passports are issued for five years and no amendments are permitted during this period. Any amendments will require the submission of a new application and payment of the passport fee. In the case of the loss of a valid passport, the applicant must submit a police report along with the application form.

Note: In certain circumstances, a Certificate of Travel may be issued in lieu of a passport to facilitate the travel of a Haitian national to Haiti. The Certificate is only valid for one month and one single trip.

Processing Time:

• Five days for standard processing.
• Two hours for urgent, rush processing. Rush processing costs an additional $40.

Fees must be paid by Money Order, Certified Check or Cashier's Check made payable to the Embassy of Haiti. Cash, debit cards and credit cards are not accepted.

For the authentication of a document for Haiti, all foreign nationals must proceed as follows:

• Present the document before a Notary Public;
• Authenticate the Notary Public's signature by the Secretary of State of the state where the notary resides;
• Authenticate by the State Department of the United States of America the signature or stamp of the  Office of the Secretary of State previously obtained; and
• Submit the document to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Haiti.
• The fee for authentication of foreign documents is US $25 payable by money order or bank check made out to the Embassy of Haiti.
