Consular services provided by the Embassy:

• Consular assistance to Hungarian citizens;
• Citizenship matters;
• Issuance of visas.

Citizens of Russia are required to hold a visa to travel to Hungary.

The visa application is admissible, if:

• The application has been lodged no more than three months before the start of the intended visit.
• The visa applicant shall present a wholly and legibly completed, signed application form.
• The applicant shall present a valid travel document satisfying the following criteria:
• • it shall contain at least two blank pages;
  • it shall have been issued within the previous 10 years;
  • its validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the member States or, in the case of several visits, after the last intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States.

• The applicant shall present passport-size colour photo (not older than 6 months);
• Biometric data have been collected (if applicable)
• Visa fee has been collected.
• If the applicant is not national of the country where he/she submits their application, certification of legal residing is needed.
• Travel medical insurance valid for the territory of the Schengen Member States and covering the entire period of the person's intended stay or transit. The minimum coverage shall be EUR 30 000.
• Certificate of the financial coverage of his/her expenses.
• Certificate of the purpose of the visit.

According to law decision upon the visa application must not exceed 15 days. In individual cases the period may be extended up to a maximum of 30 calendar days, in specific cases up to 60 calendar days.
