EU nationals whose country has no diplomatic or consular mission in Thailand are entitled to consular protection at any embassy or consulate of an EU member state, including this embassy.

Consular services provided by the Embassy:

  • Civil status registration (birth, marriage, divorce, birth);
  • Authentication and certification of documents;
  • Consular assistance to Hungarian citizens;
  • Citizenship matters;
  • Legalization of documents;
  • Issuance of passports;
  • Apostille;
  • Issuance of visas.

Documents required for Schengen visa when traveling to Hungary for tourism purposes:

  • A wholly, legibly and fully completed and signed application form.
  • A valid travel document (it contains at least two blank pages; it has been issued within the previous 10 years; its validity extends at least three months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States).
  • A color photo with white background 2x2 inches (not older than 6 months).
  • Travel medical insurance which is: valid for the whole Schengen area; covers the entire period of the trip; covers any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment or death, during the stay on the territory of the Schengen Member States; the minimum coverage is EUR 30. 000.
  • Certificate of legal residence (Non-Thai citizens who have Hungarian Embassies/Consulates in their usual place of residence or another member state represents Hungary in visa issuance in their usual place of residence must present a permit that allows them to stay longer than 3 months in Thailand without having to leave the country.
  • Visa fee: EUR 60.- for adults, EUR-35 for children between 6-12 years.
  • Itinerary.
  • Round trip flight booking.
  • Proof of accommodation (e.g. hotel booking).
  • Proof of financial means (e.g. banks statement for the past 3 months).
  • Certificate of employment (document from the employer stating the applicant’s position in the company, period of employment, salary and period of holiday granted).
  • Business registration (in case of business owners).
  • Proof of school attendance (in case of children).
  • If a child is traveling alone, consent from custodian (+ birth certificate or proof of custodianship).

The visa fee is payable in cash and in euro at the Embassy at the time of the application.
