The Government of India offers the Electronic Tourist Visa (E-TV) facility to Brazilian citizens. Only persons travelling for tourism, recreation, informal visits to friends or family members, short medical treatments or informal business meetings can benefit from this visa modality.

The visa is valid for 30 days from date of arrival in India and allows only a single entry. The Electronic Tourist Visa cannot be extended or converted to other types of visa. The Electronic Tourist Visa can be requested for a maximum of twice a year.

Citizens wishing to enter India with the Electronic Tourist Visa must necessarily land on one of the airports listed below:

New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolcatá, Trivandrum, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Goa, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Gaya, Jaipur, Lucknow, Trichy, Varanasi

Eligibility criteria:

  • Available only for international travelers whose only motivations are tourism, recreation, informal visits to friends or family members, medical treatment of short duration or informal business meetings.
  • The passport must be valid for at least six months.
  • Travelers must have a return ticket or a ticket to the next destinations in their journey, besides sufficient cash resources to ensure their stay in India.
  • This facility is not available to holders of official or diplomatic passports.

Applicants must apply for the Electronic Tourist Visa at least 4 days before the date of arrival in India.

Residents in the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul must submit their visa application to the Consulate General of India in São Paulo. The consular section of the Embassy of India in Brasilia has jurisdiction over other Brazilian states.

Applicants who come in person to the consular section of the Embassy of India can pay the fees with cash. The amount brought to the Embassy must be exact. Applicants who submit their documentation by mail must pay the fees with two administrative checks (one exclusively for ICWF fee and another for all other fees). Personal or business checks are not accepted. 

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
