  • Registers Indians abroad.

The Embassy of India, Bucharest attests documents issued by Indian authorities provided they have been attested by the Ministry of External Affairs of India.

In respect of educational certificates, Ministry of External Affair requires the certificates to be first attested by Ministry of Human Resource Development.

In respect of documents originating from Romania/Albania/Moldova, the Embassy of India, Bucharest requires them to be first attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania/Albania/Moldova, in respective cases, before they can be attested by the Embassy.

Tourist visa requirements:

  • Application form completed from the website of the Embassy.
  • Air and hotel bookings.
  • Valid Passport. At least six months validity from the date of outward journey.
  • Fee is 147 RON for Romanian, Albanian and Moldovan nationals.
  • For other citizens different fees apply.
  • In case the visit is on invitation of an Indian citizen, please provide a written invitation along with a copy of Indian identity of such a person who is inviting.
  • In case the visitor owns a house or apartment in India, please provide a copy of the registration papers of that property in India.

Processing time for individual applicants is two weeks from the time the application has been deposited, including fee payment.

Fees may be made by bank transfer or paid at the Embassy in cash. The Embassy is closed on national holidays.
