The Indian Embassy in Singapore provides the following services:

An Indian national resident in Singapore who has lost his/her passport should apply for a new passport directly at the Embassy. Tourists who have lost/damaged their passport would be considered for an Emergency Certificate (EC). An EC is a one-way travel document valid only for the return trip back to India and is issued after the Embassy is satisfied on the bona-fides of the applicant. Once back in India, the applicant may approach the passport office which had issued the original passport for issuing a duplicate passport on production of the EC.

Emergency Visa is issued in cases of genuine emergency like death or serious illness of family member (blood relation with proof of relationship) subject to production of supporting documentary evidence from India like death certificate/Hospital certificate duly signed and stamped

Visa on Arrival facility is available for holders of passport of Singapore and some other countries. Eligibility:

  • International travelers whose sole objective of visiting India is recreation, sightseeing, casual visit to meet friends or relatives, short duration medical treatment or casual business visit.
  • Passport should have at least six months validity.
  • International travelers should have return ticket or onward journey ticket, with sufficient money to spend during his/her stay in India.

If Singapore nationals need to obtain a visa on the same day in case of an emergency (Tourist visa only) they may apply directly at the Indian Embassy. The Consular Section, after ascertaining the genuineness of the purpose, may consider providing service on payment of the fee for emergency services of S$100.

Consular fees are accepted only in Cash (no NETS/Credit card payment).
