The Indian Consulate in Tirana provides only the basic and primary services. For any emergencies or enquiries one should call the Consulate in advance.

The Consular Office of the Indian Embassy provides all the standard consular services, such as assistance to Indian citizens with travel documents, legal issues, and various emergencies. The Consular Office also offers information and assistance with visas and other travel to India related issues to the Albanian citizens.

The Embassy of India, Bucharest attests documents issued by Indian authorities provided they have been attested by the Ministry of External Affairs of India. In respect of documents originating from Romania/Albania/Moldova, the Embassy of India, Bucharest requires them to be first attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania/Albania/Moldova, in respective cases, before they can be attested by the Embassy.

The Embassy in Bucharest assists and issues various visas to India: Tourist, Business, Employment and Conference Visas. The application for a visa can now be made online on the Embassies website. Applicants are required to print the on line visa application, generated in PDF format, sign the form, affix one passport size good quality photograph and submit them along with other supporting document already listed on this website. Applicants will have to present themselves personally at the Embassy for registration of biometrics. Processing time for individual applicants is two weeks from the time the application has been deposited, including fee payment.

Indian passport holder can also obtain a new passport in the Embassy. Note that no renewals on the passports are possible. The fee for the passport can be paid in cash at the Embassy.
