The Embassy provides these consular services:

• Assistance to Indonesian citizens abroad;
• Issuance of visas;
• Issuance of passports;
• Registration of Indonesian citizens abroad;
• Legalization of documents.

Theft or loss of a valid passport must be reported to the police and a police report should be presented when applying for a new passport. Otherwise a passport is applied as normally. When reporting a lost passport to the police it should be noted that a report made by telephone and a registration number given  on the basis of that might not be adequate proof to the insurance company. The report can be made in person at a police station so that a report of the crime is available in writing.

Travel document in lieu of passport (SPLP) is a travel document issued to Indonesian citizen by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in foreign countries, in the case of lost, damaged, or unable to be used passport. Travel document in lieu of passport is issued so that the Indonesian citizen is able to return to Indonesia. Its validity period is shorter than passport's validity period, and can only be extended one time. It is not to be used to replace passport.

Nationals of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Chile, Ecuador, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Laos, Macau Special Administrative Region, Malaysia, Morocco, Myanmar, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam who are going on holiday and are attending conventions are allowed to stay in Indonesia for up to 30 days without visa. Visitors should be in possession of valid passport with minimum of 6 months validity and a return or an onwards journey ticket at the time of arrival. This visa is not for employment and is not extendable.
