The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Bern manages the official relationship between the Republic of Indonesia and the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein. Indonesia's diplomacy in Switzerland and Liechtenstein seeks to promote strong bilateral ties with host countries and to advance Indonesia's policy objectives in the heart of Europe.
Services provided by the Embassy:
- Issuance of visas;
- Legalization of documents;
- Issuance of civil status certificates;
- Issuance of passports
- Assistance to Indonesian citizens abroad.
In case of lost or stolen passport abroad, Indonesian citizens must report it to the local police and bring police report about the loss/theft of their passport to the nearest Indonesian Embassy to apply for a new passport.
Since July 2015, the Government of Indonesia has implemented visa waiver policy for citizens from 30 countries for tourist visit to Indonesia. In October 2015, 40 countries were added to the list, which make total number of 75 countries whose citizens are eligible to be exempted from the obligation of having a visa for visiting Indonesia for the purpose of tourism. Both Switzerland and Liechtenstein are in the list.
The allowed duration of stay is 30 days and cannot be extended nor be converted into other type of stay permit. Applicant's passport must be valid at least 6 months upon the date of arrival in Indonesia. Applicant must be able to provide a return ticket when requested by the Immigration Officer.
Payment for visa, legalization and other consular service should be made through bank transfer or deposit to the Embassy's official account. The Embassy of Indonesia no longer accepts cash payment for any of its services. Any visa application or request for consular service whose payment is not made through bank transfer or deposit, will be returned to the applicant and the request will not be processed.
The Embassy is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
