Irish Embassy works to promote and protect Irish interests in Denmark whether it is working to promote Irish economic interests or to strengthen the political and cultural ties between the two countries. The Embassy also provides a range of key consular services.

The Embassy provides these consular services:

  • Visas;
  • Passports;
  • Citizenship;
  • Authenticating documents;
  • Marriage and civil partnership;
  • Emergency assistance.

If Irish passport is lost or stolen, Irish citizen should firstly report the loss or theft to the nearest police station as soon as possible after the event. Then he/she should contact the Embassy or nearest Honorary Consulate to make arrangements for an alternative travel document.

Citizens of Denmark do not need visas to visit Ireland.

Ireland and Denmark joined the then EEC together, in 1973, along with Britain. As small, trade oriented economies, they have much in common in their approach to international affairs. This can be seen in an EU context, in Brussels, but also in terms of shared views on many issues in relation to the UN and development aid work.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
