Foreign governments and organisations sometimes require that documents be authenticated before they accept them. In the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade they can authenticate documents that were created in Ireland. Embassies of Ireland abroad can legalise documents that were created abroad so that they are acceptable for use in Ireland. Please note the Authentication of Documents Section of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Dublin has moved office premises from 30 June 2014.
A new appointments system is in operation at the Embassy for consular, visa and passport services since April 2014. Appointments are available Monday to Friday 9.30 - 12.30. To make an appointment please contact or call +49 (0)30 220720 (please call only between 9.30 and 12.30 in the morning and 14.30 and 16.30 in the afternoon).
