The Embassy works to promote and protect Irish interests in Spain whether it is by promoting Irish economic and business interests, helping the Irish community in Spain or by supporting the excellent relations between the two Governments. The Embassy also provides a range of key consular services to visiting Irish citizens and residents in Spain.

The Embassy of Ireland is also accredited to Andorra.

Consular services provided by the Embassy:

  • Passport services;
  • Visa services;
  • Assistance in cases of emergency;
  • Authentication of documents;
  • Citizenship services;
  • Marriage abroad.

If your passport is lost or stolen you must immediately report this to your nearest Comisaría (police station) and make a report (denuncia). The police report will sometimes be accepted by some airlines in lieu of a passport, and this may allow you to travel back to Ireland. However, you should always check with your airline before going to the airport. If your airline will not accept the police report, you should contact the Embassy or your nearest Honorary Consulate to make arrangements for an alternative travel document.

Citizens of Spain do not need visas to enter Ireland.

All payments to the Embassy must be done by bank transfer.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
