The Embassy accepts payment of consular service fees in either Litas (LTL) or Euro (€), in cash or by bank transfer.
In case the passport is lost or stolen, Irish citizens should firstly report the loss or theft to the nearest police station, as soon as possible after the event. A report from the police, which confirms that the loss/theft of passport has been reported, must be obtained. It will be required to be presented when applying for a replacement travel document. Secondly, citizens should contact the Embassy. A police report is accepted by some airlines in lieu of a passport, but it should be always checked with the airline before going to the airport. If the airline will not accept the police statement, the Embassy can issue citizens with an Emergency Travel Certificate. Citizens will need to present the police report and two passport photographs to apply for an Emergency Travel Certificate.
The processing of an Irish passport via the Embassy takes at least 4 weeks.
Whether a person needs visa to enter Ireland depends on what country he/she is from. The Immigration Act 2004 groups countries into three different categories (schedules) according to their visa requirements.
Note: A Schengen visa or UK D visa is not valid for travel to Ireland.
It is advised to apply for visa 6-8 weeks before the date of planned travel.
Lithuanian nationals do not require an entry visa for Ireland.
