The consular section within the Israeli mission provides consular services to Israeli nationals and residents abroad, and also to foreign nationals (in accordance with the Entry to Israel and Notaries Laws).

The Israeli Embassy offers the following services:

  • Registration of Israeli citizens abroad 
  • Notarization 
  • Issuing and extending travel documents 
  • Registering a child who was born abroad to Israeli citizens 
  • Handling of matters relating to the Israel Defense Forces 
  • Requests for information from the Population Registry of the State of Israel 
  • Requests for information from the Israel Police 
  • Notices and updates to the Ministry of the Interior 
  • Renouncing Israeli citizenship 
  • Inquiries about the rights of returning residents 
  • Import/Export of animals, etc.

Security instructions for people who wish to obtain consular services at the mission offices

  • Please bring a photo ID. 
  • Every visitor and his belongings will be required to undergo a security check. 
  • For security purposes, no personal objects will be allowed into the mission, including handbags, mobile phones and electronic devices. 
  • Do not bring large handbags or suitcases to the mission. 
  • Do not bring food and/or beverage bottles or containers. 
  • The mission's security directives apply to people in the consular waiting room. The instructions of the security staff must be obeyed at all times.

In the event of the loss/theft/destruction of a travel document, one must visit the mission in order to obtain a replacement. Please be sure to bring the following:

  • Two passport pictures 
  • A picture ID (identity card or Israeli driver's license)· 
  • A completed declaration form about the loss/theft/destruction of a passport or laissez passer. The form must be signed before the diplomatic/consular representative.
  • The Israeli passport is the property of the State. The loss/theft/destruction of the passport requires the payment of a higher fee.

Verification of a document in a country that is not a signatory to the Hague Convention should be implemented as follows: After the document is verified by the competent authority in the foreign country (usually the Foreign Ministry or Ministry of Justice), the Israeli consular representative verifies the signature of the competent authority.

Material that is mailed to the Consular Department at the mission must be only sent to and collected from the following address:
