The Embassy of Israel in India is dedicated to promoting bilateral relations between the two countries in all areas based on the shared values, interests and challenges.
The Consular Section at the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi has jurisdiction over India and Sri Lanka.
Consular services provided by the Embassy:
- Registration of Israeli national abroad;
- Notarization;
- Verification of public documents;
- Issuance and extension of travel documents;
- Registration of children who were born abroad to Israeli citizens;
- Israel Defense Forces (IDF) related issues;
- Israeli citizenship matters;
- Visas.
In the event of the loss/theft/destruction of a travel document, Israeli nationals must visit the Israeli mission in order to obtain a replacement.
Citizens of India need visas to visit Israel.
B2 Tourist visa checklist:
- Application form for tourist visa completely filled and signed by the applicant.
- Two Recent (not older than six months) passport-size photographs in color with white background. (5.5cm / 5.5cm)
- The Passport should be valid for at least six months (any other type of travel document should be valid for at least six months), beyond the intended duration of stay in the Israel territory and with at least one blank page to affix the visa. In Case of Married applicants, the name of the spouse should be endorsed on the passport.
- A covering letter from the applicant introducing himself/herself, explaining the purpose, duration & itinerary of the visit in brief and details of expenses.
- Leave letter from employer / school stating dates of travel/ No-Objection Certificate is required.
- If invited by a friend or relative then an invitation letter form the invitee is required (in Hebrew or English) with the following details: - Name of the applicant - Passport number of applicant - Purpose of visit and duration of stay - Details of Expenses - Stamp and Signature
- Proof of funds for stay / Evidence of source of financial support.
- Proof of purpose of the visit: evidence of accommodation, e.g. confirmed hotel reservation or confirmation of organized tour, if staying at friends or relatives place then passport scan copy of the invitee is required.
- Travel ticket booking.
- Overseas travel medical insurance valid for Israel. The insurance has to cover the applicant for at least 40,000 US$ or equivalent, for all risks e.g. accident, illness, medical emergency evacuation etc. The policy has to clearly specify the period of validity and has to cover the entire duration of the trip including the date of arrival & departure.
- Day to day itinerary from the tour operator in Israel.
- One photocopy of passport & ID Proof (Election ID or Aadhaar Card).

Security instructions for people visiting the Consulate offices
- Please bring photo ID.
- Every visitor and his belongings will be required to undergo a security check.
- For security purposes, no personal objects will be allowed into the mission, including handbags, mobile phones and electronic devices.
- Do not bring large handbags or suitcases to the mission.
- Do not bring food and/or beverage bottles or containers.
- The mission’s security directives apply to people in the consular waiting room. The instructions of the security staff must be obeyed at all times.
The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
