The Republic of Latvia and the Kingdom of Belgium enjoy good relations. The interest to develop bilateral co-operation is fostered by a common future and opportunities for co-operation within the EU and NATO, Belgium being a founding member of both organisations.

Consular visitors are admitted by prior appointment only. Entrance for consular visitors - from 122 rue du Commerce. Entrance for other visitors - from 23 avenue des Arts.

Consular services provided by the Embassy:

• Document authentication/legalization and apostille certification;
• Translation of documents;
• Consular registry of Latvian citizens abroad;
• Assistance to Latvian citizens in cases of emergency;
• Civil status matters;
• Issuance of visas;
• Consular protection of Latvian citizens, their rights and legitimate interests abroad.

In case of loss, theft or damage to the Latvian passport while abroad, Latvian citizens should go to Latvian diplomatic representation in the area to obtain a temporary travel document to return to Latvia.

Visas to Latvia for citizens of Schengen Agreement member states (including Belgium and Luxembourg) are not necessary.
