Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the People’s Republic of China is also accredited to the Republic of Korea, Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Mongolia, Kingdom of Thailand and to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Consular officer can:

  • Issue repatriation certificates;
  • Issue consular certificates for the citizens of the Republic of Lithuania who lost their driving license abroad or vehicles register certificates for the purpose of returning to Lithuania;
  • Accept applications for the citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania;
  • Process applications for the issuance / replacement of passports of the Republic of Lithuania;
  • Process declarations of the place of residence from the citizens of the Republic of Lithuania who are living abroad for more than 6 months;
  • Accept requests to register acts of civil status such as marriage, birth, divorce etc. of citizens of the Republic of Lithuania;
  • Accept requests to receive archival certificates from the Office of the Chief Archivist of Lithuania;
  • Accept requests for the issuance of the certificates on conviction (non – conviction);
  • Issue consular certificates;
  • Perform notarial acts;
  • Perform consular legalisation of the documents;
  • Provide information and issue permits to transport human remains in a coffin to Lithuania;
  • Provide information about procedures how relatives in Lithuania can transfer money to the individual residing abroad;
  • If necessary, visit citizens of the Republic of Lithuania in prisons;
  • Request that the citizens of the Republic of Lithuania who are arrested or convicted abroad are treated according to local and international law and have the same treatment as local citizens;
  • Issue Schengen visas;
  • Accept applications of foreign nationals for the temporary permission to live in Lithuania;
  • Exercise other consular functions that are specified in the Consular Statute of the Republic of Lithuania, the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, consular conventions of the Republic of Lithuania and other agreements with the receiving State.

Citizens of China need visas to visit Lithuania.

Residents from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Fuijan, Zhejiang and Jiangxi provinces have to apply for a Schengen visa to Lithuania at the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in Shanghai.
Residents from Chongqing, Sichuan, Gansu, Guizhou, Yunnan and Shaanxi provinces have to apply for a Schengen visa to Lithuania at the Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing.
Residents from Guangdong, Hainan and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have to apply for a Schengen visa to Lithuania at the Dutch Consulate-General in Guangzhou.

Documents to be submitted upon application for visa:

  • A valid travel document which is issued within previous 10 years, contains at least two blank pages for visas and is valid at least 3 months after the expiration date of the visa.
  • A filled in and signed application form.
  • Photo (size 35x45mm).
  • Insurance valid in Schengen countries with a coverage of at least 30.000 EUR for the entire duration of stay in Schengen area; Applicants for a uniform visa for more than two entries (multiple entries) shall prove that they are in possession of adequate and valid travel medical insurance covering the period of their first intended visit.
  • Consular fee.
  • Flight reservation: round-trip reservation.
  • Minors (under 18 years of age): student card and original letter of the school.
  • Chinese nationals: copy of all pages of "Hukou" (no translation).
  • Proof of accommodation: For the whole duration of the intended stay. Travel programme: documents providing clear evidences about the applicant's travel programme (transportation booking, itinerary, etc.)
  • Proof of solvency of the applicant: bank statements from the last 3 months, no deposits account

Applicants should submit their application to the visa section no more than three months before the departure to the Republic of Lithuania.

Consular fee should be paid in cash, Chinese RMB Yuan, based on monthly exchange rate.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
