Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania is accredited to the Republic of Turkey, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Embassy provides these consular serves:

  • Assists in case of emergencies;
  • Provides consular registration services;
  • Issues passports and identification cards;
  • Deals with citizenship matters;
  • Provides civil registry services;
  • Legalizes documents;
  • Provides notarial services;
  • Issues consular certificates;
  • Issues residence declaration documents;
  • Issues visas and residence permits;
  • Issues return travel documents.

In case Lithuanian passport is lost, stolen or damaged while travelling abroad, Lithuanian Embassy or Consulate can issue an emergency travel document to return to Lithuania.

In the Republic of Turkey, all types of visas of the Republic of Lithuania are issued by the Consular Department of the Lithuanian Embassy, located in Ankara. Turkish citizens who are holders of special or service passports may enter the Republic of Lithuania without holding a valid visa (on condition of not exceeding 90 days of stay within a period of 6 months).

Documents to be presented to the Lithuanian Consulate by holders of national passports, depending on the specific purpose of travel, are as follows:

  1. Passport (time period between the date of its issue and date of visa application must not exceed 10 years and passport must be valid for at least 3 months as of the date of departure from Lithuania).
  2. Schengen visa application form (must be filled in capital letters only and signed by the applicant).
  3. Proof of adequate travel medical insurance covering the entire period of intended stay, valid for all Schengen States and covering any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgency medical attention, emergency hospital treatment or death during stay. The minimum coverage must be 30.000 EUR.
  4. One recently taken passport photo, size 4x5 cm and with plain white background.
  5. Visa application fee is 60 Euros.
  6. Supporting documents for Schengen visa applications with the purpose: tourism
  • Flight / travel reservations or other proof of intended transport
  • Evidence of hotel bookings or travel plan
  • Proof of means of subsistence
  • Additional documents based on the applicant’s occupation

In some exceptional cases, the Embassy may ask the submission of some other additional documents. Visa application fee is not refundable. Under normal circumstances, visa proceedings are finalized within 7-10 days following the date of application. However, this period may be extended up to 15, 30 or 60 days in some individual cases. Therefore, it is important that visa applications be made at least 15 days prior to the intended date of travel. Applicants must present all the required documents personally.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
