Consular services provided by the Embassy:

  • Assistance in cases of emergency;
  • Issuance of visas;
  • Issuance of passports;
  • Legalization of documents.

In case of lost or stolen passport abroad, Luxembourg Embassy or Consulate can issue an emergency travel document to citizens of Luxembourg to return to Luxembourg.

Polish citizens do not require a visa to enter Luxembourg. Citizens of other countries should contact nearest Luxembourg Embassy or Consulate to find out if they need a visa to enter Luxembourg.

Necessary documents to submit when applying for a visa:

  • a passport with a validity that exceeds the intended stay of the applicant by at least three months plus a photocopy of all important pages. Passport must have a blank page to affix the visa.
  • visa application form.
  • recent passport-size photograph. Applicant should write his/her name on the back of each photo. Photos must not be stapled to the application form.
  • proof of residence.
  • proof establishing the purpose of the trip, for example a letter of invitation, proof of participation in group travel, etc. If the purpose of the trip is business, a letter from both companies in Luxembourg and Poland should be presented.
  • proof of lodging, i.e. hotel reservations, rental of vacation home, stay with a family member or friend. In the latter case, a financial support document should be submitted signed by the family member or friend in question and legalised by local authority.
  • proof that applicant ca continue his/her trip after the visit to the Schengen countries, i.e. onward or return airline ticket.
  • if the applicant is a minor, written consent of a parent or guardian having the care and custody of the child must be presented. The signatures on this document have to be notarized.
  • proof of travel health/accident insurance.

The visa fee should be paid upon submitting the application form. In case of refusal, the fee will not be reimbursed. Zlotys are accepted using the exchange rate of the day.
