Embassy's vision is to safeguard and advance Malaysia's national interest and enhance awareness of Malaysia through public diplomacy in Brazil.  

Embassy's mission statement:

  • Enhance relations between Malaysia and Brazil;
  • Extend excellent and efficient services to the Embassy's clients; and
  • Ensure the safety and interests of Malaysians in Brazil.

The Embassy provides these consular services:

  • Registration of Malaysians abroad;
  • Birth/marriage certificate registration;
  • Registration of death;
  • Travel advice;
  • Passport renewal;
  • Issuance of visas;
  • Notary services.

Any Loss of passport must be reported to the Embassy immediately.

Documents to be submitted:

  • Police report with English translation by a certified translator
  • Malaysian Birth Certificate (original and 2 photocopies)
  • Malaysian Identity Card (original and 2 photocopies)
  • Letter from the employer in English (original and 2 photocopies)- if applicable
  • Letter from University in English (original and 2 photocopies)- if applicable
  • 4 recent coloured photographs, size 3.5 x 5.0 cm
  • Copy of the lost passport (if available)

Citizens of Brazil do not need visas for tourist visits to Malaysia for stays of up to 90 days. The validity of a passport must not be less than 6 months. A yellow fever certificate will be needed (injection to be taken 10 days before entry).

The Embassy is closed on Saturdays, Sunday and Public Holidays of Brazil and Malaysia. If a public holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday will be a normal working day.
