The Embassy of Malaysia in the Russian Federation was established in the late 60s after Malaysia and the then Soviet Union concluded a Trade Agreement on 3 April 1967 which established diplomatic relations between both nations.
Consular services provided by the Embassy:
- Passport renewal;
- Birth/marriage certificate registration;
- Registration of Malaysians abroad;
- Travel advice;
- Legalization of documents.
In case Russian passport is lost or stolen, it should be reported to the local police. A police report about the loss/theft of the passport will be required when applying for a new passport at the Malaysian Embassy.
Citizens of Russian Federation, Armenia, Belarus and Georgia do not require visas to visit Malaysia for stays of up to 1 month. Those who are visiting for more than a month, attending long term courses or entering the country for employment must obtain a visa.
The Embassy is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
