The Consular Office of the Malaysian High Commission provides all the standard consular services, such as assistance to Malaysian citizens with travel documents, legal issues, and various emergencies. The Consular Office also offers information and assistance with visas and other travel to Malaysia related issues to the Singapore citizens.

Malaysian High Commission can assist with the following:

• advise on how to transfer money through a bank or other money transfer company (such as Western Union),
• transfer funds to help those in distress,
• help victims of sudden illness, accidents and crimes so that they can get the medical care or other immediate assistance they need,
• grant a temporary passport for repatriation (to replace a passport which is outdated or which has been lost, stolen or destroyed),
• contact the insurance company in cases of sickness or death,
• help those in distress or crisis situations, or those taken into custody, to get in touch with their next of kin

Theft or loss of a valid passport must be reported to the police and a police report should be presented when applying for a new passport.

Citizens of Malaysia do not need a tourist visa to enter Malaysia for a stay of up to 30 days. Citizens of other countries may require a visa to enter Malaysia. Malaysian High Commission in Singapore does not accept walk-in visa applications by individuals.  All applications must be submitted through an appointed travel agent.

Malaysian High Commission is closed on Saturdays, Sundays & Public Holidays (if the holiday falls on a weekend or declared national public holiday for Malaysia or Singapore, it will be substituted by the following working day).
