Mongolia's Ambassador to the Republic of Austria not only represents his country in Austria but also represents the Mongolian Government at United Nations organizations in Vienna.
The Embassy's mission is to:
- Support the Ambassador to represent the country's interests in Austria as well as the interests of the Government of Mongolia at the appropriate international organizations.
- Promote bilateral relations and to that end submit proposals to the Government of Mongolia.
- Protect by diplomatic means and in accordance with the norms of international law the rights and legitimate interests of Mongolia's citizens and its legal entities.
- Render notary services
- Protect the legitimate interests of Mongolian citizens living in Austria.
When carrying out the above mission the Embassy enjoys the privileges and immunities provided by Mongolian law as well as stipulated by international law, including the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations and the Vienna Convention on consular relations.
Normally visa processing takes one week. However, it is possible to get an express visa for the double charge of every respective kinds of visa if you provide all required documents.
Entering Mongolia
Private visits and tourist travel visa has a validity, in the invitation and confirmation of the Mongolian legal person or company is established. Applications can not be submitted by mail. The processing time is usually 7 days. In the tourist season, it may take up to 10 days. The passports with a visa by the Embassy must be picked up. Mongolian tourist visa is normally valid for 3 months. Please note that the validity of a visa starts from the date of issue and not the date of travel and even if the visa is valid for 3 months, it does not mean you can stay in Mongolia 3 months.
For the issuance of transit visas are the same documents as for the entry and exit are required. Moreover, it is determined that the visa of destination country (China or Russia), which, following the visit Mongolia is already issued. A transit visa entitles only a transit for up to 5 days.
