The Consular Section offers a wide range of services for foreign visitors to the Netherlands as well as Dutch citizens abroad. One should contact the Embassy for information on applying for a Dutch visa or passport, legalising documents, taking the civic integration exam, acquiring or regaining Dutch nationality, and many other procedures.

The Netherlands Embassy in Tirana deals with long stay (more than 90 days) applications.

If you lose your passport abroad, the Embassy in Tirana can help one to obtain a new passport or temporary travel document (emergency passport or laissez passer). Even if it is not required to report the loss of a passport to the local police, it is highly recommended to do so, with a view to a subsequent claim to your insurance company.

Applying for a travel document:

All Dutch nationals can apply for a new passport at the Dutch Embassy. It does not matter if one lives in the territory served by the Embassy or is staying there temporarily. In some countries, you can also apply for a Dutch identity card at the embassy or consulate.
