The Embassy provides these consular services:
- Issuance of Dutch passports, ID cards;
- Issuance of visas;
- Dutch nationality matters;
- Legalisation of documents;
- Marriage, adoption, birth matters;
- Civil integration examination abroad;
- Notarial acts;
- Voting abroad;
- Assistance in cases of emergency.
If Dutch passport is lost abroad, the nearest Dutch Embassy or Consulate can help obtain a new passport or temporary travel document (emergency passport or laissez passer). Although it is not required to report the loss of the passport to the local police, it is recommended to do so, with a view to a subsequent claim to the insurance company.
If Indian citizens wish to apply for a Schengen visa to visit the Netherlands, they will need to:
- Provide a passport or other travel document with at least two empty visa pages. The passport or travel document should have been issued within the last 10 years. It must be valid for at least three months beyond the date on which they intend to leave the Schengen Area.
- Provide a completed and signed Schengen visa application form.
- Any person also travelling on their travel document must have a separate application form. Forms for children under 18 years old must be signed by a parent or guardian.
- Provide a photo that meets Dutch requirements.
- In the countries where the Visa Information System has been rolled out, their fingerprints will be taken when they submit their application. Specific categories of applicants, such as children under 12 years old, are exempted from this requirement.
- Pay a visa fee when they submit their application.
- Pay a service fee if they submit their application at the offices of an external service provider.
As a general rule, a decision will be taken on application within 15 calendar days.
The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
