The Dutch Embassy in Luxembourg provides these consular services:

• Allows to take civil integration examination;
• Legalizes Dutch and foreign documents;
• Issues national passports, identity cards;
• Provides notarial services;
• Issues civil status certificates;
• Assists in adoption matters;
• Registers Dutch nationals staying abroad;
• Assists in emergencies (stolen passport/bank cards, hospitalization, death of a relative, search for a missing person, legal assistance, child abduction)

There are three types of visas to enter Netherlands:

• Short stay visa for up to 90 days (Schengen visa);
• Visa for Caribbean parts of the Kingdom;
• Visa for stay longer than 90 days.

As of January 1, 2008 it is no longer possible to apply for visa or temporary residence permit in the Dutch Embassy in Luxembourg. Such applications will be taken over by the Dutch Embassy in Brussels.

Processing time of Dutch travel documents takes around 10 days.

In case of lost passport or identity card, Dutch nationals should report it to the nearest police station and obtain a notification which will be needed when applying for new travel documents at the Dutch Embassy. The Embassy may issue a temporary travel document to return to Netherlands.

The Embassy is closed on weekends and public holidays.
