• Assistance in cases of emergency.

If Dutch citizens lose their passport abroad, the nearest Dutch embassy or consulate can help them obtain a new passport or temporary travel document (emergency passport or laissez passer). Although they are not required to report the loss of their passport to the local police, it is recommended they do so.

For people who need a tourist visa, they should be advised that the Embassy of Luxembourg in Lisbon took over this task since 2011.

Citizens of Portugal do not need a visa for a stay in Netherlands of up to 90 days.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
