If Dutch citizens lose their passport abroad, the nearest Dutch embassy or consulate can help them obtain a new passport or temporary travel document (emergency passport or laissez passer). Although they are not required to report the loss of their passport to the local police, it is recommended they do so, with a view to a subsequent claim to their insurance company.

Russian citizens require a visa to travel to Netherlands for stays of up to 90 days. Documents required for a tourist visa:

  • Valid travel document (international passport) valid for a minimum of 3 months after scheduled return to the Russian Federation, containing at least two blank pages and issued within the previous ten years.
  • Photocopies of all marked pages of valid international passport.
  • If available other valid or/and expired foreign passports and copies of all marked pages of other valid or/and expired foreign passports.
  • Russian internal passport: Photocopy of holder page and registration page.
  • Visa application formcorrectly completed and signed by the applicant. For minors: application form must be signed by both of their parents or a legal guardian.
  • Two recent colour photographs, not older than 6 months.
  • Travel medical insurancecovering the entire period of intended stay, valid for all Schengen States and covering any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention, emergency hospital treatment or death during the stay. The minimum coverage must be €30.000.
  • Non-Russian citizenshave to present: Russian visa or residence permit + registration valid 3 months after scheduled return to the Russian Federation. Exception to this rule are citizens of Belarus.
  • Photocopy of return ticket or reservation (flight, train, bus and/or boat).
  • Confirmation from booked accommodation for the whole travel period, including all other countries during this trip.
  • Proof of financial means: statements of bank account, bank confirmation of currency exchange (34 euro per day for a person plus costs for accommodation) not older than 3 months.
  • Proof of employment.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
