Loss or theft of New Zealand passport must be reported to local police. A copy of a police report or a reference number will be needed when applying for a new passport (depending on which country applicant is in, police reference numbers may be called different things - police report event numbers, crime reference numbers, etc.).
To be allowed to travel to New Zealand and to enter when Indian citizens get here, they’ll need to:
- hold a valid passport or travel document
- hold a valid visa to travel to or transit New Zealand (if one is required). If they’ve been issued an eVisa it’s a good idea to print out a copy to bring with them when they travel
- make sure their visa is in the passport they use to travel to New Zealand – if they want to use a different passport, they’ll need to make sure they apply to transfer their visa to the right passport before they travel
- show they have a travel ticket out of New Zealand to a country they can enter at the end of their stay (unless they’re Australian citizens/permanent residents or they already hold a visa label or letter that says “Return/onward travel not required” or “The holder of this visa is sponsored”). If after their New Zealand visit, they’re travelling to a country that also requires them to have a visa or travel ticket, Embassy may ask them to show their visa or ticket out of that country too
- if Embassy asks, show it they have enough money to support themselves while they’re in New Zealand (unless they’re Australian citizens/permanent residents or they already hold a visa label or letter that says “Return/onward travel not required” or “The holder of this visa is sponsored”). Amounts can vary depending on the visa, so they need to make sure they check the amount before they travel
- meet health and character requirements
- be a bona fide visitor and answer truthfully when Embassy asks them about the reason for their visit
The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
