Consular services provided by the Embassy:
- Provides consular assistance to New Zealand citizens in case of emergencies;
- Deals with citizenship matters;
- Issues passports;
- Provides notarial services;
- Issues marriage documentation;
- Issues visas.
Consular assistance is available to New Zealand citizens outside New Zealand (whether or not they normally live in New Zealand). New Zealand citizens who also hold citizenship of another country ("dual nationals") may not be entitled to assistance, for example if they have entered the country on their non-New Zealand passport, or if they are in the country of their other nationality.
Philippine nationals require a visa to enter New Zealand.
Basic requirements for visitor visa to New Zealand:
- Applicant is in good health;
- Applicant is of good character;
- A visitor visa fits applicant's purpose of coming to New Zealand;
- Applicant is a bona fide temporary visitor.
Applicant will need to provide:
- Valid passport with application;
- Proof that applicant plans to leave New Zealand;
- Proof of funds.
All visa applications and enquiries must be made to the Visa Information and Application (VIA) centre (02 845-9222), not the Immigration New Zealand branch at the Embassy.
Please note that neither the New Zealand Embassy nor Immigration New Zealand, Manila Branch, accept walk in inquiries regarding visa matters.
Payment to the New Zealand Embassy in Manila from within the Philippines can be made:
- In person by paying in cash at the embassy;
- Sending cash via courier to the embassy (nationwide courier companies that accept cash include LBC Express Inc and 2GO). The embassy accepts no responsibility for cash in transit, or;
- By sending a local bank manager's cheque to the embassy (please note clearance will depend on how long the courier takes to deliver the cheque; 3-5 days will also be required for the bank to clear the cheque). The bank manager's cheque is to be made out to the New Zealand Embassy in Manila.
- Pre-paid LBC courier envelopes should not be sent, as LBC no longer collects from the embassy.
